Getting Social Security Disability Benefits

When I first heard that I had Bipolar Disorder, I was scared, did not know if I could work again, could not support myself financially, and made my parents worry about me. When my parents saw that I was not doing well on job interviews and was unable to work due to my mental illness, they suggested that I should apply for Social Security Disability Benefits. At that time, I had to apply three times. On my first two times, Social Security denied my request for disability benefits because they thought I could still get a simple job. With any job, you have to have confidence in yourself, I did not. Finally, with a lawyer's help I received benefits plus medicare to help pay for medical expenses. I sometimes wonder if I had a book about getting Social Security benefits I would not need to get a lawyer and maybe if I wrote certain things on my application that would make Social Security believe that I had a disability and see that I could not work or maintain a job at this time, maybe with the help of a book I could have gotten my disability benefits earlier. The "Bipolar's Guide to Winning Social Security Disability" is an excellent book to get and I wish I could have used it because I know that it would have helped me a lot. For those of you who have Bipolar Disorder I strongly recommend that you buy this book if you are applying for Social Security Disability Benefits and once you read it I am sure you will get your benefits.
